What RABSTEL does

RABSTEL is a verification platform. We connect our customers to identity and corporate-registry data through a single account, so that checks that would otherwise mean separate integrations, separate contracts and separate billing can be run from one dashboard or one API key.

Through RABSTEL you can:

• Verify and validate National Identification Numbers (NIN), and retrieve the associated slips.
• Verify Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) and run related record services.
• Check companies registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) by RC number or name.
• Submit modification, clearance and enrolment requests that our team processes for you.
• Integrate any of the above into your own product using the RABSTEL API.

How it works

RABSTEL runs on a prepaid wallet. You fund your wallet by transferring to the dedicated account number issued to you when you sign up, and each verification debits your wallet at the price shown before you submit.

Automated services return a result in seconds. Some services — modifications, clearances and enrolments — are reviewed and completed by our operations team, and those show as pending in your dashboard until they are finished. Either way you get a reference and a timestamp, and the outcome appears in your history.

When a check cannot be completed

We do not guarantee that any particular verification will return a match. Results come from third-party data sources and depend on the underlying records; a search that finds nothing is a legitimate outcome, not a fault.

What we do guarantee is that you are not charged for a service that could not run. If a data provider is unreachable, times out, or returns an unusable response, the fee is refunded to your wallet automatically and the transaction is recorded as failed.

Who we are not

RABSTEL is an independent, privately operated commercial service. We are not a government agency, and we are not owned by, affiliated with, or endorsed by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), the Central Bank of Nigeria, or any other public body. Where we reference those institutions, it is only to describe whose records a given check relates to.

Handling personal data

Verification means handling identity information, and we treat it as sensitive by default. In practice that means:

• We collect only what a given check needs, and nothing else.
• Identity numbers are masked throughout the interface; the full value is visible only to the account that submitted it.
• Every verification and every result view is recorded against the account that performed it.
• Generated slip files are deleted automatically once their retention period ends.
• The platform is served over HTTPS only.
